Effective June 11, 2026 Last updated June 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit nealwinsomerpublishing.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
This site, nealwinsomerpublishing.com, is owned and operated by Neal Winsomer Publishing LLC, a limited liability company filed in the State of New Mexico with its principal place of business at 1333 College Pkwy #1037, Gulf Breeze, Florida 32563. You can reach us at admin@nealwinsomerpublishing.com or (904) 736-5175, or through our contact page.
This Privacy Policy covers nealwinsomerpublishing.com only. Other properties we operate, including nealwinsomer.com and Lightuptheshadows.com, have their own policies.
If you contact us through a form, by email, or by phone, we receive the information you choose to send, including your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the contents of your message.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard server log information, including your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visited, the date and time of your visit, and the referring page. This information is used for site security, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic analysis.
As of the effective date above, this site does not set first-party advertising or analytics cookies. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in the future, we will update this policy and present a consent notice before any non-essential cookies are set. Essential cookies that are required for the site to function may be used without consent under applicable law. Some pages may embed content or forms from third parties, such as podcast players, video, social media, or sign-up forms. Where that content appears, the third party may set its own cookies, which are governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than ours. See Section 12.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, contact admin@nealwinsomerpublishing.com and we will delete it. For visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of digital consent that applies in their country, which ranges from 13 to 16.
If you sign up for our newsletter or email updates, we collect the email address you provide and any name or details you choose to add. We use this to send you book news, release updates, new podcast episodes, and related content from Neal Winsomer and Neal Winsomer Publishing LLC.
We send these emails on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that consent and stop receiving them at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing admin@nealwinsomerpublishing.com. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly and keep your email on our active list only until you opt out, after which we remove you within a reasonable period, except for a minimal record needed to honor your opt-out.
Our email messages are sent through a third-party email service provider and may include standard open and click tracking that tells us whether an email was opened or a link was followed. We use this only to understand which content is useful and to improve what we send. We do not sell or rent our subscriber list, and we do not share it except with the service provider that delivers the emails on our behalf.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
We keep contact information for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward for our records, generally not longer than three years. We keep newsletter subscription information until you unsubscribe, after which we remove it from our active list within a reasonable period. Server logs are kept for up to twelve months. We delete or anonymize information sooner on request, except where retention is required by law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the site and our communications (for example, our hosting provider and our email service provider) and only to the extent necessary for them to perform that work. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes we direct.
We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid subpoena or court order, to protect our rights or property, or to prevent fraud or harm.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and post an update to this policy if a transfer of your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to:
In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA: identifiers (such as name, email address, and phone number), internet or other electronic network activity (such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and server log data), and the contents of any communication you choose to send us. We collect this information directly from you and automatically through our hosting provider, use it for the business purposes described in Section 5, and disclose it only to the service providers described in Section 7. We have not sold or shared personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@nealwinsomerpublishing.com with the words "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your request before responding and will respond within 45 days, with one further 45-day extension where reasonably necessary and permitted by law.
Residents of other U.S. states with similar laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and others) have comparable rights. Use the same contact method, identify the state you reside in, and we will honor your rights as required by your state's law.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation and equivalent laws give you the right to:
The legal bases on which we process your data are: consent (where you have given it, including for our newsletter), contract performance (when you have requested information or services), our legitimate interests (such as site security and responding to inquiries), and legal obligations.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@nealwinsomerpublishing.com.
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including TLS encryption for the site and access controls on the systems where personal information is stored. No method of transmission over the internet or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We are based in the United States. If you visit the site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. Where we transfer personal data of EU, UK, or Swiss residents to the United States, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
Our site contains links to third-party services and platforms, including social media accounts, podcast distributors, retailers, press wires, and review sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Read their privacy policies before providing information to them.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry standard for how to interpret these signals, we do not currently respond to them. We will update this section if a standard is adopted.
Some browsers and extensions also send an opt-out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), that communicates a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws, so there is nothing for the signal to stop. If we ever begin any activity that qualifies as a sale or sharing, we will treat a recognized opt-out preference signal as a valid opt-out request for the browser or device that sends it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the most recent change was made. Material changes will be communicated by a notice on the site or by email where you have provided one.
For any privacy question or request, email us, call, or use our contact page.
