  1. SCOPE

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit nealwinsomerpublishing.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. This policy covers nealwinsomerpublishing.com only. Other properties we operate, including nealwinsomer.com, have their own policies.

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

a. Information you provide directly. If you contact us through a form, by email, or by phone, we receive the information you choose to send, including your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the contents of your message.

b. Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard server log information, including your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visited, the date and time of your visit, and the referring page. This information is used for site security, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic analysis.

c. Cookies and similar technologies. As of the effective date above, this site does not set first-party advertising or analytics cookies. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in the future, we will update this policy and present a consent notice before any non-essential cookies are set. Essential cookies that are required for the site to function (for example, session cookies for security) may be used without consent under applicable law.

d. Children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, contact nealwinsomer@gmail.com and we will delete it.

  1. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

Respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests.
Send you information you have asked for, including order confirmations, replies, and follow-ups.
Operate, maintain, and secure the site.
Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

  1. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep contact information for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward for our records, generally not longer than three years. Server logs are kept for up to twelve months. We delete or anonymize information sooner on request, except where retention is required by law.

  1. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the site (for example, our hosting provider and our email provider) and only to the extent necessary for them to perform that work. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes we direct.

We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid subpoena or court order, to protect our rights or property, or to prevent fraud or harm.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and post an update to this policy if a transfer of your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

  1. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS, CALIFORNIA AND OTHER U.S. STATES

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to:

Know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
Request deletion of personal information we have collected from you.
Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide the services you have requested.
Be free from retaliation for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email nealwinsomer@gmail.com with the words “California Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will verify your request before responding and will respond within the time periods required by law.

Residents of other U.S. states with similar laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and others) have comparable rights. Use the same contact method, identify the state you reside in, and we will honor your rights as required by your state’s law.

  1. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS, EUROPEAN UNION AND UNITED KINGDOM

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation and equivalent laws give you the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

Request erasure of your data.

Restrict or object to certain processing.

Receive your data in a portable format.

Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

The legal bases on which we process your data are: consent (where you have given it), contract performance (when you have requested information or services), our legitimate interests (such as site security and responding to inquiries), and legal obligations.

To exercise any of these rights, email nealwinsomer@gmail.com.

  1. DATA SECURITY

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including TLS encryption for the site and access controls on the systems where personal information is stored. No method of transmission over the internet or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  1. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

We are based in the United States. If you visit the site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. Where we transfer personal data of EU, UK, or Swiss residents to the United States, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

  1. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

Our site contains links to third-party services and platforms, including social media accounts, podcast distributors, retailers, press wires, and review sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Read their privacy policies before providing information to them.

  1. DO NOT TRACK

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no industry standard for how to interpret these signals, we do not currently respond to them. We will update this section if a standard is adopted.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the most recent change was made. Material changes will be communicated by a notice on the site or by email where you have provided one.
